I found this spiral maze pattern on the Friendly Loom site in their pattern library, available if you join the Loop Group--it's free to join, with no strings (loops?) attached.

I was looking for more patterns for their new heathered loops, although this pattern will also work fine with other colored loops. The pattern was designed by Deborah Jean Cohen and is from her book Radical Potholder Weaving.

This was a challenging pattern for me, mainly because I was following the itty bitty PDF downloaded on my phone. If you print out the pattern and place a ruler under each row, it might be easier. I had to redo almost every row, often more than once. Also, I chose to weave in the loops from left to right as I got confused when weaving from right to left.

In the end, I was amazed by the finished potholder (sorry about the pun--not intended!).

I used three colors--winter white, dark navy, and heathered blue. The dark navy loops are almost black and the heathered blue loops are a gray-ish color. This pattern is for a traditional size, 19-peg loom.
