A blue gingham potholder
I'm not entirely sure why, but I love the gingham pattern. Maybe it's because of Dorothy's blue gingham dress in The Wizard of Oz . Gingham seems to be having a moment. Barbie wore a pink gingham dress in the Barbie movie. (I'm almost tempted to buy the doll for myself.) Taylor Swift is a fan of gingham. And other celebrities have worn gingham this past year. In any case, here's the pattern: Vertical (warp) : A medium color all the way across. I used powder blue. Horizontal

Two-one basketweave potholder pattern
I saw the image of this Christmas potholder online some time ago and tried to recreate it but no luck. The other day, though, I noticed that the pattern is the Two-one basketweave pattern for an 18-page loom on Piglet's Potholder Pattern site. (There is also a pattern for a 27-peg loom ). Thanks to whoever came up with this color combo and posted the image online. Here's the potholder on the loom. I also tried this pattern with pine and winter white:
