Gingham potholder pattern

I've always loved the gingham pattern--it's a classic pattern with a "cottage core" vibe.

And speaking of cottages, I'm actually making a couple of these potholders for the old-timey cottage in New Hampshire we visit in the summers. (The cast-iron stove wasn't replaced until the 1980s.)

I'm using the new heathered loops from Friendly Loom, available from their Loop Group. If you join the Loop Group (free to join), you can also download the gingham pattern for both traditional size and pro-size looms.

These heathered loops work well with dark loops of the same color. A few months back, I tried another pattern with the heathered loops.

The gingham pattern is easy:

Warp (vertical): "Medium color" loops all the way across (in this case, the heathered green or heathered dark navy loops).

Weft (horizontal): Weave in a dark loop (dark navy or pine), then a white loop (I used winter white), then a dark loop, a white loop, etc.

In the first row, start by weaving under and over the first heathered pine or navy loops.
