The other day, I placed about 15 potholders on the kitchen table and asked my husband to pick the one he liked the best--and not to overthink it. He immediately chose the one below, a potholder I made a few years ago when I first got into weaving potholders.

Admittedly he's no potholder weaving expert, but he has a point. The log cabin pattern is unique because the stripes change direction.

So, I decided to try another log cabin pattern. There are lots of variations of the basic pattern for 18-peg and 27-peg looms. See, for example, Piglet's Potholder Patterns site.

I found an interesting pattern in a book I bought a few years ago, Potholder Loom Designs by Rachel Snack (Harrisville Designs). Loop colors are burgundy, flax, and winter white. I like the subtle color combination of flax and winter white.
